Canadian entertainer Drake is being investigated for allegedly permitting his representatives to utter threats against a stripper he reportedly engaged in intimacy with some time ago. The woman, who originates from Texas, is said to have given a statement to police but has not yet decided on pressing charges.
Jhonni Blaze told authorities that the conflict started following an intimate encounter between she and Drake that happened at an unknown date, after which she says he became fearful that she would spread word of their one night stand to the media. Blaze claims that the Toronto native then began aggressively texting her, telling her that it would be in her best interest to not utter even one word of what happened between them. Shortly following this, Drake allegedly sent his people to the woman’s house, and she claims they banged on her door repeatedly until she opened it. His representatives then reportedly threatened her life, telling her that she better not tell anyone about her aforementioned sexual encounter with Drake, and if she did they would send someone her way in order to silence her for good.
Houston PD has since given the statement to TMZ that an investigation has indeed begun regarding Blaze and a male she accuses of using his people to threaten her, but the singer’s name has not yet been confirmed. Authorities are keeping an incredibly tight lid on the details of the case, only going as far as to say that the male party in question is possibly one of a celebrity nature. No further progress has yet been made to gather information on the matter from said male, although officers involved in the case say that they are interested in talking to the man. Sources close to the 27-year-old Canadian say that the allegations made by Blaze are as far from the truth as can be, and that he had absolutely no involvement in the matter whatsoever.
This is not the first time Drake has been involved in an altercation with the law. In June of 2012, he was involved in a physical conflict with fellow R&B artist Chris Brown, which took place at WIP Nightclub in Manhattan’s upscale SoHo neighborhood. The two were at the club in order to celebrate the recent birthday of Javon Smith, who is currently the manager of popular singer/songwriter Ne-Yo. Drake was accused of encouraging his entourage to throw several glass bottles at Brown and his crew, a matter which escalated to the point that several club-goers were injured and had to be taken to the hospital. The fight is said to have ensued over a long-standing beef between the two regarding Barbados superstar Rihanna, with whom both of them have been romantically linked. Brown and Rihanna broke up in 2009 following the infamous domestic abuse incident in which the Run It singer left the woman bloodied and bruised, and for which he served hefty community service and probation over. Drake was said to have become romantically linked with Rihanna a few years later, while the two were collaborating on their hit single Take Care. The nightclub was subsequently shut down shortly following the incident.
It remains to be seen what will become of the recent investigation against Drake for allegedly permitting his people to threaten a stripper who claims to be his prior sex partner. While Drake himself has not yet given an official statement regarding the matter, those close to him remain insistent that the singer has done nothing of the sort.
