Wayne Community College Victim Has Died, Shooter Still at Large

Wayne Community College in Goldsboro, North Carolina, is currently under a lockdown after one person was shot in the school’s library, according to Daniel Wiggins, the Wayne County assistant operations manager. As stated by recent reports, the victim who was shot has now died, City Manager Scott Stevens stated. As of now, there have been no reports of additional victims regarding the shooting.

Wiggins stated the shooter is still at large. He is considered to be armed and dangerous. The suspect has been described as a bald, Caucasian male, standing at 5-foot-11. He is said to have a tattoo over his left eye and has a goatee. The suspect was last seen wearing light-colored pants and a dark blue jacket.

Wayne Community College has a student population of 3,837. Reports from the National Center for Education Statistics says more then half of the students are part-time at the 2-year college. Between 2011 and 2013, there were no reported robberies, car thefts, assaults, or murders. Though, three apprehensions for illegal weapons in 2012 and 2013.
