B-Soul is the fusion of soul, R & B with Bhangra vibes and influences, according to Stephan Dante. Tubsy Dholki Walla and Dante performed their B-Soul original “Dirty” at the G Salvatore Fashion Showcase.
The concept of B-Soul sprung to life when Stevie Eagle E brought Dante and Walla together for a previous event. During rehearsals a unique bond was formed between the two artists and B-Soul was born.
When asked how the world would respond to the first official B-Soul track, Dante responded: “I have no idea. You just can’t predict these things, but we like it so that’s enough for now. We are still working on what B-Soul really is. The first couple of times we tried it live it was a bit messy because we did not rehearse enough and understand one another as well as we should do. We are getting better and the music – B-Soul is becoming more distinctive in its sound, but we still have a way to go to fully lock it in. “Dirty” will be our first truly B-Soul track. Before, we were using tracks I had before and putting his licks on them, but this one was constructed from scratch with the B-Soul vibe.”
Dante would like to see B-Soul appreciated and liked. “We are not trying to re-make the wheel, just growing as artists and musicians trying different things. If people like it that’s enough for me. I hope it really catches on and other artists get with it and start trying to really fuse different things together and try new things. The music industry, at the moment, is a little stagnant.”
