Clark County Republican Party Loses Chairman and Vice-Chairman

By Randy Rose

Both Chairman Dave Gibbs and Vice-Chairman Woody Stroup have quit their positions with the Clark County Republican Party. They both said they needed more time to spend electing Republicans to office with Team Nevada. This leaves both positions open. Dave was just recently elected to the position of Chairman and was installed just prior to the May 4th Nevada State Republican Convention, and now he quits with less than a month on the job. Both men are big Romney supporters. With the dominance of the Ron Paul wing, perhaps they were seeing the writing on the wall, so they left on their own terms. This opens the door for more Ron Paul supporters to fill those positions.

    We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
    For he to-day that votes Ron Paul with me
    Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
    This day shall gentle his condition:
    And gentlemen in America now a-bed
    Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
    And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
    That voted with us upon President
    Ron Paul’s Election Day.”

    This is actually incorrect – it was the Nevada GOP Chairman, Michael McDonald that was elected and installed back in April. Chairman McDonald remains committed to building a strong, united GOP in Nevada. Mr. Gibbs has been serving as the Chairman of Clark County since mid-2011, although he was absent for much of his tenure due to being overseas on business.
