In recent months, Justin Bieber has flipped-flopped on several issues when it comes to manhood and relationships. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Bieber says, “I don’t think you should have sex with anyone unless you love them. The statement can be understood as consistent with others he has made in the past, yet it clearly contradicts others. Moreover, the statement is perhaps vague enough so that one can either draw the conclusion that the pop star has yet to enjoy a roll in the hay or that he has had sex and is condoning sex out of wedlock.
In a January 10, 2012 story published in “The Justin Bieber Shrine,” the singer said that people need to know “I’m not a kid anymore.” He went on to say, “I don’t want to start singing about things like sex, drugs and swearing. I’m into love, and maybe I’ll get more into making love when I’m older.” The article noted that “Bieber hopes to maintain his squeaky clean image for at least a few more years.”
One could interpret that the interview suggested that Justin would not be ready for sex for at least two more years. He was a 17-year-old teenager then, but in May of 2012, it appears that he gave an interview to The Sunday Times in London that totally contradicted his earlier statement.
In that article, Bieber was asked if he was a virgin, apparently embarrassed by the question, Bieber said, “Ah-hah, next question.”
So does Bieber believe in sex before marriage, or is it the other way around?
Perhaps the most telling answer to this question came when Bieber said, “I think you should just wait for the person you’re in love with.” Ah ha, did they get him? I think not; Bieber must have polished up on his political skills before the interview because it appears that with everything he said, he really hasn’t said that much.
What are your thoughts?
