An earthquake has shaken parts of southern Mexico, causing buildings to sway gently in the capital but causing no immediate reports of damage.
Mexico’s national seismology service calculated the magnitude of the 7:29 a.m. (1229 GMT) quake as 5.8 and said it was centered about 16 miles (27 kilometers) southwest of Pinotepa Nacional on the Pacific Coast.
