Gov. Brian Sandoval says he’ll support expanding Medicaid eligibility in Nevada as called for under the federal health care law.
Although he originally was opposed to expansion of Medicaid, he will accept federal funds that will add 78,000 Nevadans to its roles. It will save the state 16 million dollars in mental health care programs that would otherwise have to be paid for out of the general fund.
He cited that his decision will help tens of thousands of Nevada’s residents. He also said his plan is to reduce taxes for small business to help them pay for health care costs.
