They say it is blocking both lanes and the Nevada Department of Transportation is working to clean it up.
A Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) sergeant confirms the road closed due to “an over-abundance of snow.” He says the large amount of snow was likely because of an avalanche. Spin-outs, snow removal operations and avalanche-prevention operations were on-going before the closure.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and REMSA say they are not currently working any rescue operations in that area.
