CHICAGO – Alexander Villa, 24, of the 2900 block of West Altgeld St, was positively identified as the driver of a vehicle that was involved in a fatal auto accident on November 24, 2012 at approximately 5:45 am, on the 3500 block of West Division. The subject was driving a vehicle that drove into the driver’s side of a SAAB in the intersection, fatally injuring the driver of the vehicle and seriously injuring both passengers in the vehicle. He then fled the scene on foot and failed to render aid or report the crash. A warrant was issued for his arrest and he turned himself into police custody accompanied by his attorney.
Villa was charged with one count of felony failure to report an accident resulting in death.
He is scheduled to appear in Central Bond Court at 26th and California on January 22, 2013
