SEATTLE, Washington – Police received a 911 call at around 9:30 p.m. Friday informing them that a car had crashed into a house in the 5500 block of 15th Avenue South.
According to Detective Jeff Kappel of the Seattle Police Department, the driver, an 18-year-old male carrying three passangers, was heading northbound on 15th Avenue South driving a 2003 Honda Accord when he lost control of his car and crashed into the first floor of a two story house.
Though residents were home, nobody in the house or car was injured.
Officers arriving to the scene of the accident immediately suspected the driver had been under the influence of drugs.
Investigators say, the driver displayed obvious signs of drug induced impairment. A Drug Recognition Expert officer responding to the scene conducted a preliminary evaluation for narcotics and found probable cause to arrest and process the teenage motorist for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
The drive was immediately transported to Harborview Medical Center where blood was drawn an tested.
The driver was released pending further investigation and laboratory results of the blood screen.
According to Detective Kappel, the incident remains an active an on-going investigation.
