George Lucas announces new art museum
The mastermind behind the Star Wars franchise has announced his next move, George Lucas wants to build an art museum in San Francisco. The museum will overlook the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge and will house art pieces that will teach young people to imagine things. George Lucas also wants to teach the craft of story telling, explain the process of designing sets, characters and costumes.
In an interview George Lucas was quoted as saying, “Star Wars was there to inspire young people to imagine things. The museum will serve the same purpose.”
It is no secret that George Lucas is an art collector, so for the Star Wars creator to want to open an art museum is no surprise to many.
“I don’t see anything wrong with having an idealistic, sentimental fun point of view. Especially for people that are growing up,” George Lucas said in an interview.
Also, for the many STAR WARS fans out there, STAR WARS VII has signed on Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher to reunite and reprise their roles from the earlier STAR WARS films. It was a deal that was signed before Disney bought Lucas Films in December.
J.J. Abrams will direct the next STAR WARS chapter and STAR WARS VII is set for release in 2015.
