When Clint Eastwood’s wife, Dina, admitted herself to a rehab clinic in Arizona last week, it wasn’t breaking news.  It seems that sometimes celebrities use rehab centers as a second home.  But there now seems to be more to the story.

The couple has been having marital discord.  The center of it is reported to be twofold.  Dina wants Clint to stop working as much, and spend more time with her.  She wants to have her own reality television show.  Her first attempt at “reality” TV, “Mrs. Eastwood and Company” is struggling to get ratings.  TMZ reports that Dina wants to stay in rehab for a few months while she sorts out their problems.

In November, the National Enquirer reported, “Clint Eastwood is secretly living apart from his much-younger wife Dina Ruiz.” The couple had been arguing. Eastwood was reportedly, “deeply embarrassed that Dina was dragging his private life into a sleazy reality TV show, and they started fighting over it.” Hmm, reality shows are definitely a marriage killer.

Clint, age 82, is dedicated to his first loves, acting and directing.  Reports say their 17 year marriage has been strained in the last few years.  Those around him say he is no longer wearing his wedding ring.  Another source said they spent their seventeenth anniversary on March 31 apart.

Reality shows have not produced positive results for most couples.
