Rumor has it Christina Aguilera will return to The Voice for Season 5. This no doubt means coaches and fans will say goodbye to Shakira who sat in Xtina’s seat for Season 4. Who do you think was a bigger asset to The Voice?
Anyone who listens to Christina Aguilera’s music certainly knows the singer is a powerhouse with a set of pipes that far surpasses practically every female singer in the business. However when Christina opens her mouth–as seen on Seasons 1-3 of The Voice–she negates any positivity she creates through her talent. She not only lacks the ability to issue constructive criticism to her team members, but actually comes across as rather mindless. And if she continues dressing the way she did during the show’s first three seasons, the word ‘bimbo’ promptly comes to mind.
Yes, ours is a society replete with sex, sex, sex at every turn, but The Voice is about just that–the voice of each and every contestant on the show, and Christina’s mammaries needn’t play a role.
Before this is mistaken for a Christina weight bashing bashing forum, rest assured it is not. Some beautiful women have appeared on The Voice and they’ve been larger than Christina–who incidentally lost lots of weight since Season 3. This isn’t about Christina’s weight. It’s about her tactless mode of dress and her blithering remarks to contestants. She failed at both her wardrobe choices and her finesse with contestants multiple times and lost lots of credibility with fans of The Voice.
That said, would The Voice be better off with Shakira than with Christina for Season 5? While it may not even be an option, the likes and dislikes of fans should certainly be a consideration. No, Shakira isn’t the vocal powerhouse Christina is, but she has provided her Season 5 team members with sound advice and has offered her fellow coach’s team members plenty of constructive criticism, too. She is sexy while not being vile and she carries herself with poise, integrity, and a refreshing sense of style and grace.
Maybe if Christina Aguilera returns to Season 5 of The Voice, she will step up to that proverbial plate and tone down her trashy looks and mindless retorts. But just one season in and it already appears like fans love Shakira.
Who would you choose to sit with Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green (Yes, it’s said the ‘Forget You’ singer is returning for Season 5, too, ending Usher’s reign as a coach on The Voice) in the magical turning chairs on The Voice?
Would you vote for Christina and hope for the best or would you beg producers to offer Shakira whatever it takes to stick around for yet another season?
MTV claims if Christina signs the deal that’s presently under negotiation she’ll make close to $17 million for the season. That’s close to what American Idol is paying Mariah Carey, and everyone knows that’s just plain dumb.
If it’s drama The Voice wants, then they’ll get it if Christina returns. Remember the ridiculous fight she and Adam Levine engaged in throughout a few episodes during Season 4? If they want a serious judge committed to enhancing not only the contestant’s experience on the show, but that of the viewers as well, they’ll ante up for Shakira.
How do you suppose this will all turn out?

Shakira
Shakira has so much more personality and playfulness with the other coaches. It makes the show very much more entertaining.
Shakira, HANDS DOWN! She is beautiful, smart, has a darling personality, AND gives constructive criticism. You can tell when Christina either does not like a contestant or is bored by the person. The show was becoming too much about Christina’s boobs and nothing more.
Christina because this show was created for her and was based around her and her voice and along with all the other original judges. I do like Shakira but there is no replacing Christina.
Christina Aguilera is the best for me ♥

Shakira is kind, graceful and constructive with her feedback. Christina, no thanks stay at home!
I have been a faithful The Voice viewer since the first season and, although I did not care for Christina’s or Cee-Lo’s flamboyant costumes (blame the shows heirarchy on that) or the way they coached, it’s about “The Voice” contestants not the shot-stealing judges. I was ok with them being replaced. Not being a fan of either Usher or Shakira I had no idea what to expect of them but I can say I was pleasantly surprised with both Usher and Shakira’s coaching abilities and the methods they used when mentoring their charges. I would be quite happy if the shows heirarchy opted to retain both Usher and Shakira for the long term. (Yes, I know both will not be there next season but it doesn’t hurt to wish.)
no question, christina all the way. how can u have a show called the voice without her in it??
Definitely Christina – no doubt – the better coach! Cant wait! Really missed her honesty!!!
I love the way Shakira is so supportive and real and honest with her team. She is smart, talented and beautiful.
Shakira all the way !!! Cant stand Aguilera !!
shakira all the way. after having seen shakira up to now on the voice, if i were nbc, i’d do anything too keep her on the voice. too bad the deal is already done for christina for season 5. hopefully that would be her last.
I really prefer Shakira. Christina talked way too long and often and sure needed a stylist. Paying millions to anyone to judge/coach is out of line.
I agree with Kimberly Ripley. Good coaching is about wardrobe choices!
Shakira made some dumb music choices (bb boys?) for her now gone contestant.
It is my understanding that while Aguilera and Green are back for the fall season, the show will switch back to Shakira and Usher for the spring season.
This article is so bias and a little bit pathetic
