A man is in a Maryland mental institution for admitting murder. Alexander Kinyua, 22, told authorities he killed a house guest, and performed an act of cannibalism.
A 37 year old man from Ghana was staying at the home of Kinyua and his family in Joppatowne last year. Kinyua turned himself into authorities, telling them he has beaten the man to death with a barbwire-wrapped baseball bat, and then had eaten parts of his body.
Kinyua was out on bail at the time for an alleged assault at Morgan State University.
He will be charged today with first degree murder. Kinyua will plead guilty, but not responsible.
The prosecutor said he does not have evidence of cannibalism in the case.
