church shooting

A man shot another man in the back of the head in an Ogden, Utah, Catholic Church during Mass on Sunday.  He ran out of the Church, and there is a manhunt in progress.  Witnesses said he left in a white GMC truck.

The incident happened at St. James Catholic Church.  The man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.  A witness said the shooter was the man’s son.

Ogden police Lt. Scott Conley said Charles Richard Jennings Jr., 35, shot the man because of a ‘domestic dispute.’  A confirmation of that dispute has not been defined.

Jennings was later captured in Elder Country in the stolen GMC pick-up.

Authorities have assured the community that it was not a random shooting and that no one else was in danger.
