Ladies, beware! If following Kim Kardashian’s pregnancy has taught us anything, it is that the natural changes that occur to a woman’s body during pregnancy are open ground for ridicule. One should be weary of anything that causes them to gain weight, even if that thing is the child growing inside of them. Tabloids have repeatedly driven this point home with countless headlines featuring Kim Kardashian and all of the gross and unflattering changes her body underwent during her pregnancy.
It really is no surprise that a culture so focused on providing a steady stream of attack on body images would have had such a field day with Kim Kardashian. Clearly, the body shaming, mocking and humiliating of a pregnant woman was lucrative business, since multiple tabloids are already announcing her second pregnancy. It must be devastating to their profits not to have such a cash cow (pun intended) to feast upon weekly.
Recent reports have also indicated that Kim Kardashian has finally stepped out of seclusion to reveal to the world that she has reclaimed her figure. Reports like these insinuate that a) she should be ashamed of her body, b) she is stepping out in hopes of securing approval from main stream media, and c) these should be the primary focus of every woman who has the audacity to get pregnant or have a body.
Opinions of the Kardashians aside, no woman deserves to be subjected to this type of scrutiny while they are doing the taxing work of growing another human being inside of them. A body that puts on weight during pregnancy is not shameful or gross, not even for Kim Kardashian.
The frenzy over Kim Kardashian’s weight gain was almost sociopathic in its delivery, zeroing in on specific areas of her body like her armpits and ankles and discussing how humiliated and desperate she was because of how obscenely fat she had gotten. Tabloids would outline what she ate, what diets she was “trying” to maintain, mention her current weight and the amount of weight she gained at different points of her pregnancy, and how she “dared” to don a bikini.
Of course, there were also the never ending stories of how Kanye West was certainly leaving her, at times insinuating that this too was because she was fat.
The attention did not wane after her daughter’s birth. Her body was, and is, discussed as if she has no awareness and was instead merely an object the public amuses themselves with.
There were even reports that she got pregnant and intentionally gained excessive amounts of weight for financial gains. It is entirely possible that this was meant to harken back to the days of her first wedding, which she was accused of staging just to get ratings and money from her show. What these accusations also implied was that being pregnant is not enough of an excuse for gaining weight. There has to be some ulterior motive.
It begs the question: Is nothing sacred? One doesn’t have to be a fan of hers to recognize that she is a human being and that she is being unjustly attacked at every turn, without mercy, for a part of life that should be celebrated. Those who are fans of hers should seemingly be outraged at the way this woman is being treated by media outlets.
It is time for women everywhere to realize that the messages fed to them about their bodies are wrong. Neither Kim Kardashian, nor any other woman, is gross because of any change that happens to their body, be it from pregnancy or any other reason.

I also believe that mesothelioma is a uncommon form of melanoma that is often found in all those previously subjected to asbestos. Cancerous tissues form from the mesothelium, which is a shielding lining that covers almost all of the body’s organs. These cells usually form inside the lining of your lungs, belly, or the sac that encircles the heart. Thanks for revealing your ideas.
Off curse you have a better body!
Roger’s right.
Uh, you do realize that you’re doing the exact same thing you’re condemning in this very article, right? By having a title like “Kim Kardashian has a gross body” you are cashing in on the “the body shaming, mocking and humiliating of a pregnant woman…”
That’s all you care about, clicks and money.
Fukk tha haters’_’Love Kim.Kay.
Just another vacuous american moron, a fat, stupid idiot!
Yeah she is ultra gross. All the black D has really taken a toll on her looks.
She was only famous for her looks. Why would it come as any surprise when she’s scrutinized when that changes? And this shamer-shaming is getting really out of hand.
I love everything this article says! I originally clicked this link because I was so upset that Kim was being subject to such horrible comments and that no woman should have to go through that while pregnant, if ever! Thank you so much for not being ignorant and disrespectful of such a beautiful woman, fat or not. 🙂
Yeah, real Gross.
