In Miami, 12 employees of Aromas Cafe on 10759 SW 56th St. were arrested late last night for selling alcohol without a license. Two of the employees were also arrested for dealing in narcotics.
Owner Raul Gonzalez, 28, has been allowing employees to sell the liquor since the establishment’s license expired earlier in March. The remaining employees included in the arrest were Ana Hernandez, Daniel Cortes, Elizabeth Ramirez, Iveth Munquia-Bolton, Juan Mendoza, Liubis Liza Florat, Sandra Ivars, Yadys Monzon, Yanet Garcia Quinones, and Yordania Alvarez. The youngest arrested, Simpson, is 23 years old.
Juan Mendoza was also cited for having a fictitious driver’s license. On the day of the arrest, Yordania Alvarez attempted to sell a gram of powder cocaine for $50 to undercover police. Alvarez received the money, met with co-workers in the kitchen, then later returned with the bag. Employee Daniel Cortes was also involved in the incident. Both were arrested for the sale of the drug.
