It was a case of sweet revenge for Taylor Swift when she embarrassed her ex Harry Styles at the MTV Video Music Awards. Taylor sat right next to her BFF Selena Gomez in the audience and apparently the two young ladies were feeling that girl power vibe all night long.
When her ex Harry Styles and One Direction went to present the award for Best Pop Video Taylor mouthed the words, “Shut the F*** up.” It wasn’t certain if she had just mouthed the words or if it was an “aside” to her buddy Selena. But either way she apparently had enough vitriol to keep her going throughout the evening. When she won the Best Female Video for I Knew You Were Trouble, she got a chance to slam Styles from the stage.
In her acceptance speech she said, “I want to thank the fans because I tweeted about this a lot, I really wanted this.” She then said, “I also want to thank the person who inspired this song because he knows exactly who he is, because now I’ve got one of these.”
Taylor Swift embarrassing her ex Harry Styles at the Video Music Awards seems to indicate that she still harbors some ill will about their breakup in 2012.
The 23 year-old singer went out with Styles very briefly last year. The flames of attraction were doused when Harry was caught locking lips with American model Emma Ostily in New Zealand during April 2012. It was this occurrence that prompted Swift to write the song she won the award for.
Styles didn’t know how to react at Taylor’s verbal smack-down on air and looked clearly uncomfortable. Although his band mates seemed to find the whole thing quite funny. But once Taylor had made her point, she went on to show just how classy she can be.
At the MTV VMA after-party, she actually posed with Harry Styles and One Direction for a Twitter photographic moment. But while she showed just how “big” she could be, the telling thing about the photo is the placement of Taylor in the picture. She is way on the other side of the line up. She managed to keep two people between her and Harry in the photo and she doesn’t really look all that happy to be there.
But before the posed Twitter photo, she actually got to slam Styles again, but this time from her seat. Although she did get a little help from the live camera feed that showed the starry audience’s reactions to events on the stage. When Harry and One Direction won their award, Taylor’s mouth dropped open and she has a look of disbelief on her face.
Earlier this year during her Grammy rendition of We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together she also took the time to make fun of the British singer. While performing the other Harry Styles inspired song, she put on an English accent while she “spoke” on her phone in the middle of the number. She said into the “phone, “I’m sorry, I’m busy opening the Grammys and we’re never getting back together.”
Ouch.
But, her evening at the MTV Video Music Awards must have felt like a personal triumph for Taylor Swift. Not only did she win the Best Female Video award but she also got to embarrass her ex Harry Styles and Kanye West was nowhere to be seen. Which meant that she didn’t need to keep a death grip on her microphone this year.

People have been saying for many years that the end is near, but we needed not only the Third Temple, but also the technology for there to be a cashless society for the Mark of the Beast to be a reality.
