Ford Recalling 370,000 Cars

Alert! Ford is recalling 370,000 cars. No incidents or injuries have been reported from the recall, and Ford wants to keep it that way. The vehicles are being recalled due to the potential corrosion of the steering shaft that may result in loss of steering while driving. Car models include:

  • YEARS: 2005 through 2011
  • Ford Crown Victoria
  • Mercury Grand Marquis
  • Lincoln Town Cars

The models were sold in the following states- be advised you can inquire to your local dealer, even if you are not listed in an affected state:

  • Connecticut
  • Delaware
  • District of Columbia
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Iowa
  • Kentucky
  • Maine
  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • Michigan
  • Minnesota
  • Missouri
  • New Hampshire
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • Ohio
  • Pennsylvania
  • Rhode Island
  • Vermont
  • Virginia
  • Wisconsin
  • West Virginia

Ford is recalling 335,000 cars from the United States and 15,000 from Canada. If you own a model with these years, please see or contact your local dealer. The dealer will fully inspect your vehicle and if needed will replace your lower intermediate steering shaft. The dealer may also analyze your steering column shaft and the upper intermediate steering shaft.
