With less than three hours to go, Washington D.C. time, the House of Representatives took a vote late Monday evening and decided on a Republican plan to postpone a part of the new federal health law and also keep the government going. This will prolong the partisan deadlock over Obamacare and federal expenses with just a few hours to spare before the midnight shutdown. The U.S. Government continues in a standoff with each other.
A vote of 228-201 means yet another battle between the House, led by Republicans and the Democratic-run Senate. Once again the short-term spending bill was returned to the Senate floor, where it has just been announced the Democrats have killed the bill.
