President Obama is, quite possibly, the least honest man in America. His lies are well documented and none more so than his promise to the American people that “if you like your healthcare plan, you can keep it.” We know that Obama lied and, speaking to supporters in D.C. Monday, he lied about lying.
He made the pledge on health insurance policies on numerous occasions. He was clear about it; he added no caveats, no buts, no exceptions. On one occasion, he even followed this promise with the word “period,” clearly emphasizing the finality of the statement. He is on record almost 30 times making this promise. There was not a single occasion when Obama followed up on this promise by explaining that there may be exceptions to the rule. As it turns out, more than 90 percent of private health-care plans are exceptions to the rule and the administration was informed before the implementation that around 68 percent of currently insured Americans would lose their plans. The Democratic Party, the White House and the architects of Obamacare were well aware, from the start, that this would be the case.
Speaking to Organizing for Action (formerly Organizing for America) activists in the nation’s capitol, Obama said “What we said was you could keep it if it hasn’t changed since the law was passed.” Strangely enough, there is not a single recorded incident of Obama, any other White House staffer or adviser or any Democratic politician pointing out that the passage of the Affordable Healthcare Act may cause any policies to change. The Democratic Party has been lying about healthcare from the beginning.
To give the President credit, he effectively admitted to breaking his promise as he addressed his loyal subjects Monday; “If we had allowed these old plans [to continue],” he said, “then we would have broken an even more important promise; making sure that Americans gain access to health care that doesn’t leave them one illness away from financial ruin.” Thus, from his own mouth, he broke one promise to keep another. Unfortunately for the American people, this apparently more important promise will not be kept either: The majority of people who have actually managed to survive the circus that is the government’s healthcare website have discovered that the affordable plan they previously had – which have now been cancelled because they are not compliant with Obamacare regulations – will be replaced with policies that either carry a staggeringly increased monthly premium or a deductible that would leave most American families in financial ruin.
President Obama lied to the nation; then he lied about lying. There can be absolutely disputing this fact. He said one thing and repeated it on numerous occasions. What he said has not happened and, while he was saying it, he knew that it would not happen; the regulations within the Affordable Healthcare Act were deliberately written to ensure that very few healthcare plans would comply. Obamacare was designed to destroy the private health insurance industry and lead to a single-payer, government controlled system of socialized medicine. For those who have been paying attention, this fact was always obvious.
The narrative now being pushed by the Democratic Party is that the President never made the statement that he is known to have made on more than 20 occasions. An alternative excuse is that the avalanche of healthcare plan cancellations either is just not happening – laughable, considering the hundreds of thousands of cancellation notices being received by Americans – or that it is, somehow, all the fault of the insurance companies; equally laughable, since private corporation simply do not discard paying customers.
Obama lied about lying; the Democratic Party lied about lying; the private healthcare insurance industry has been crippled by the federal government. Welcome to Socialism, folks!
