The Associated Press reported Monday that Ronald Phillips, a 40-year-old Ohio man convicted for murder and set to be executed on Wednesday, has requested for his organs to be donated. Although Phillips has members of his family in mind to be receiving the organs, his lawyers add that he would be willing to offer parts to be used by other individuals who have need of them.
Phillips’ pending execution has received some attention in the media lately because it will be carried out with an untested combination of the sedative midazolam and hydromorphone, a painkiller.
