New Jersey: Animal Shelter Employee, Michael Papini, Ditches Dog in Dumpster

New Jersey

New Jersey citizens are definitely known for being dog lovers and cat lovers. Americans love their pets, and have a soft spot in their heart for every human’s best friend. So, the news of animal shelter worker, Michael Papini, being arrested for ditching a dog in a dumpster is the kind of thing that makes people angry.

Here is the story. However, animal lovers be forewarned, this story is not for the faint of heart.

A female Lhasa Apso with a pink collar was found in a trash dumpster around 2 a.m. on Christmas Eve. The dog was apparently left for dead in the trash dumpster behind a gas station on Montauk Highway, West Islip, New Jersey.

A homeless New Jersey man was looking through the trash when he found the dog and immediately called police.

Upon inspection, New Jersey SPCA Chief Roy Gross said that inside the trash they found a plastic garbage bag, and inside the plastic bag was a cardboard pet carrier. Gross said it appears that the little dog had chewed its way out of the pet carrier and plastic bag. At that point, it found itself stuck – buried alive in the trash on Christmas Eve.

Security camera video shows a black SUV parking by the dumpster around 7:45 a.m. Then a man gets out and throws a black plastic bag into the dumpster. That evidence led directly to Papini.

Michael Papini was charged Friday with aggravated animal cruelty, a felony, and animal abandonment. There were also other related charges. He was arraigned Saturday.

There are few things as aggravating and frustrating as the abuse of a small animal. That dog was one year old. It was innocent. The thought of an animal shelter employee doing that is twice as horrifying, and the fact that it happened on Christmas Eve is three times as horrifying.

They say that child molesters are on the lowest wrung of the social ladder among criminals and cons. However, there ought to be a special place reserved for those who abuse humanity’s four-footed friends. The abuse of children and animals must surely qualify as the lowest form of depravity one can imagine.

One can only surmise what kind of motivation inspired Michael Papini to do such a thing on Christmas Eve. Indeed, this man should be afraid to show his face in public or in jail anytime soon. One can only imagine that the American public might remember that name, and that the incident will follow him around for the rest of his natural life.

It’s bad enough that it happened at all; however, one is completely mystified that all of this was caught on video. Surely by now everyone knows that everything is probably being captured on video. They say there is not one inch of London that is not under 24/7 video surveillance.

When one hears of such a crime, the capture by video technology is the saving grace. How a person could be in his 30s and be so stupid as to dump a dog in a dumpster and allow himself to be caught on video is completely beyond comprehension. Michael Papino is some kind of menace to animals and a nemesis to society.

Animal lovers across America are probably wishing that a special circle in hell be reserved officially and especially for one soulless Michael Papini.

I said the same thing when I read this article Alex. There most certainly is a special place in hell for such depravity. The lowlife looks like he is on meth with those red marks on his face.
