Legendary Birds in Pokemon

Pokemon X and Y have been out for a while now which means a lot of people have finished the game by now. After finishing the game there are still a lot of things to do, including finding legendary Pokemon. This article provides a quick explanation for the locations of these special Pokemon.

Pokemon X and Y

As you play through the main game you encounter the legendary associated with the game you have. Pokemon X has Xerneas and Pokemon Y has Yveltal. What other legendaries are there? Well because this game has a lot of throw backs to old school gamers, you can find  the three legendary birds from the first generation of Pokemon. Unfortunately, you can not catch all three legendary birds in one play through; the one you get depends on which starter you picked in the beginning of the game.

  • If you picked Fennekin you can catch Zapdos.
  • If you picked Chespin you can catch Articuno.
  • If you picked Froakie you can catch Moltres.

In order to catch one of these legendary birds you must encounter them 10 times in battle before finally getting the opportunity to catch them in the Sea Spirit’s Den. You must beat the elite before it is possible to encounter them in battle. Below is a video that explains it a little further.

Pokemon X and Y legendary Pokemon

It is not confirmed but it is speculated that three more legendaries can be found in Pokemon X and Y. However, it is not possible to get them yet. Hackers found three new Pokemon in the games code. Some theorize that the Kalos Power Plant has them hidden because of the three locked doors located there. Even after beating the game these doors remain locked and players have yet to get behind them. The names of these three Pokemon are Diancie, Volcanion, and Hoopa.

Mewtwo can be caught as well and upon catching him you find the stone necessary to evolve him into his mega evolution. Both games have a particular stone they give because Mewtwo has two different mega evolutions.

To find Mewtwo head to the Pokemon Village southwest of Snowbelle City. You will need a Pokemon with you that knows surf in order to get to the cave Mewtwo is in. Mewtwo’s catch rate is incredibly low (3). Mewtwo knows recover which means if you don’t want to use your master ball it could take you a while before you see that pokeball finally stop moving.

The Z legendary is in this game as well. It is genderless just like Mewtwo. Its name is Zygarde and it is dragon ground type. Catching this beast may give you trouble because it has the same catch rate as Mewtwo but the difference here is that Zygarde can not recover. After beating the elite four you can go back to the Terminus Cave and explore deeper. Zygarde awaits you on B3F.

Pokemon X and Y are loaded with secrets and legendary Pokemon. Hopefully this article has been helpful in some way or another.Don’t forget there is post-game content besides the legendaries such as being a detective in Lumiose City and breeding the best Pokemon possible. Good luck trainers.
