Youth Quit Church to Join Kanye ‘Yeezus’ Religion Yeezianity [Video]

Kanye West is the leader of Yeezianity, not the founderIs the church losing its members to the newly established Church of Yeezus? Kanye West is the leader of online religious community called Yeezianity. This community consists of avid Yeezus followers who are honored to share his message. This group is powered largely by teenagers who have vowed to never mention his government name. He is only referenced in this group of believers as Yeezus.

The church of Yeezus believes their leader has shown the modern world the creative potential which exists in every human being. The Yeezianity community says Yeezus is a living model for ethics and behavior. They say his message is quite captivating for anyone who dares listen to it.

Far too many young people are done with the ancient traditions of the church which refuses to change is methods. They feel the church is no longer relevant. Today’s youth don’t seem to have as big of a problem with Jesus as they do with the church. In fact, many of them profess to love Jesus but hate the church.

Today’s young people have more options than their parents did at their age. They are often more educated which makes the “clichés” of traditional church lingo hard to tolerate and less believable.

Many feel the church is simply old-fashioned. The church has failed to address concerns young people are faced with today. It is clear that the church must maintain a sense of doctrine and creed but the dogma that many churches still render is unacceptable for the youth of today.

This generation does not want to adopt the “fake” mentality of their forefathers. They feel the church makes people become disingenuous, hypocritical and counterfeit. Their theory is the church as they have known it tells people to pretend everything is alright even when it is not. They prefer to be authentic, open and honest about their feelings.

Youth complain that the church wastes too much time harping on sex. They don’t want to hear about fornication repeatedly because some of them feel that to live a life without sex is impossible. Whether it is a sin or not does not concern them as much as other issues which they feel the church overlooks such as education, hunger, homelessness and poverty. They say the church wants their money but too often has failed to give back to the community.

These youth want answers to their questions. They are tired of hearing that it is wrong or insubordinate to question church leaders. The message of the Bible can be complicated and even misinterpreted but when they try to gain clarity they can never find real answers. Open dialogue in many of today’s churches appear to be frowned upon.

These are just a few of the problems today’s youth have found when trying to resolve their faith, love of God and their church experience. As a result an increasing amount of young people are leaving or have already left the church.

The Church of Yeezus was not started by the rapper himself instead Yeezianity was established by a 23-year-old New Yorker named Brian Liebman. Liebman says the purpose for his new founded religion is not to elevate Kanye to the stature of Jesus Christ but to establish faith in humanity.

The Yeezianity founder says this religious community has nothing to do with idolatry. Yes, he does admire Yeezus but contends his adoration for the famed rapper is anything but worship. Liebman says he does not worship Kanye the man but he admires what he has done and believes his heart is genuine.

Of course Kanye has his flaws but no one can deny he has made his dreams become a reality. For Yeezianity that’s the model they strive for, it is not as high as Jesus but it is something every human being can attain if they put their mind to it.

Liebman says he refuses to justify his new religion; the Church of Yeezus is already doing that. Religion is a cultural creation man created and once the Yeezus community ceases to care about it Yeezianity will no longer be legitimate. All he did was cut out the 2,000 years of people exploiting the name of Jesus and instead slapped a modern cultural figure on it. Kanye is not a great as Jesus but there are many people who can connect to the concept.

Liebman says he honestly believes that one day people are going to look back and realize that Kanye pushed the world forward while others just went with the established program. He believes, as does Yeezus, that people need to have faith in themselves and each other.

If you really want power stop seeking money, instead seek ways to gain good karma says the Yeezianity founder. Jesus had perfect karma and the only way to attain the type of karma Jesus had is by giving. Liebman realizes the more he gives the more he receives. He makes sure to give as much as he can while allowing the receiving end to take care of itself. He says if that is not a Christian notion than he does not know what is.

Liebman says he does believe that Kanye is a stepping stone to Jesus and it makes perfect sense to approach spiritual growth in progression. He feels the model that has been given for Jesus is out of reach for most of today’s youth but that does not mean they should not aim a little lower.

Yeezus is showing human beings that they have a greater potential inside of them if they just believe. That is the focus of Yeezianity; focus on the godlike part of humanity instead of the “sinner” or the flaws.

Kanye, in a 2013 interview, said contrary to popular belief he does not have a “god complex” he simply wants to be like Christ. Jesus is who he looks up to the most, that is his hero.

A new study says young people are losing faith in religion and leaving church by the droves. Is the church losing its members to Kanye and the newly established Church of Yeezus?

Well written article. But before everyone starts running away from the church, understand that God has prepared a “sent one” for each person who diligently seeks Him. b/c you may have attended a ministry or church that you “feel” didn’t speak to you the way you want, find another or ask others who joyfully attend, serve and share out of growing and impactful ministries/church for direction.

I repeat, let’s not condemn the church. You may have just run across the wrong one. Or could it be possible that you have the wrong impression of what church is? Either way, God will reward you to the level of your faith. Just ask! In the meantime don’t sit and do nothing. Get in the Word of God and study for yourself. Lovingly submitted, K

Yeah, it’s pretty clear just how massive the movement is… evident in the piddly 9k views of the above youtube video, and the one response this article has garnered in all the hours it’s been posted.

This is not a new religion, it’s a sect of Christianity with the caveat ‘jesus is a little to perfect, aim a little lower’…
