Novak Djokovic Is Going to Become a Father

World No. 2 tennis player, Novak Djokovic, announced that he will become a father. Djokovic and his fiancée, Jelena Ristic, are going to welcome their first child. Novak, the Serbian tennis player, who won the Gran Slam six times, is currently sidelined with a right wrist injury he picked up at Monte Carlo Master last week.

“My dear friends, you have been by my side me through many good and hard times during my career. I was blessed to travel the world and to play the most beautiful sport, which brings me a lot of excitement and joy. I am happy, loved and healthy. Jelena and I are truly blessed to soon become parents! My love is pregnant,” Novak Djokovic wrote on Facebook. Novak, who currently resides in Australia, admitted that he and his fiancée Jelena cannot wait to get married, but have not yet set a date.

The couple got engaged last summer after an eight-year relationship. Since then, the media constantly speculated about the date and place of the wedding, but few month ago, a famous tennis finally told something about it. “We have not set a date yet, but we cannot wait for that to happen. This is our little secret,” he told the reporters at the Australian Open tennis championship and made it clear that he does not hide his enthusiasm regarding the next step in the relationship with Jelena. Though Djokovic made some public joke about the wedding date, he and Ristic have not yet revealed their plans.

“We became engaged in September last year. Ever since it happened, I am trying even harder not to lose a match, which is why I cannot wait to get married. Indeed, all I need is love,” said Djokovic, adding that he will let his fiancée Jelena Ristic to plan the wedding. Novak Djokovic is very excited to become a father for the first time and is now focusing on the wedding even more. The news about Novak and Jelena becoming parents, gave no indication of when their first child is due.

Djokovic and Ristic are currently spending some time in the Greek capital Athens, where he is recuperating from the wrist injury. Novak flared the injury during a semifinal defeat to Roger Federer last week, but he remains optimistic, saying that it might be possible for him to play in the Madrid Masters tournament in a fortnight. “Fortunately, the injury is not as bad as it first seemed. However, I have to continue with the full medical treatments and recovery process. So that means, I will have to take a short break if I want to recover a soon as possible,” Djokovic wrote on his official website.

Novak Djokovic is overjoyed that will become a father for the first time, as he proudly wrote that he and his more beautiful half will soon have a new family member. Djokovic achieved many things in his career and is considered as one of the best tennis players off all time. Becoming a father and getting married to Jelena were the only things missing, in order to completely fulfill his life. Since the baby is on the way, he almost achieved everything he had planned in his life.
