
Update: Per the California Highway Patrol, among the injured are a group of high school students from Los Angeles. Nine fatalities have been confirmed and a medical helicopter is taking off from Enloe.
California authorities report that a FedEx truck crashed into a tour bus on CA 1-5 around 5:45 p.m. just north of the city of Orland. According to Glenn County officials and CHP, at least 50 people were injured in the accident. No fatalities have been confirmed. A witness to the crash and fire reported hearing multiple explosions. Several fire departments have responded to the blaze, and are attempting to put out the fire while continuing the rescue of passengers. Northbound lanes on California I-5 are currently closed, but southbound lanes remain open. Three helicopters and at least 10 ambulances have been sent to the scene to evacuate the injured. The situation is still unfolding.
