The popular gaming media website GameTrailers was hit with layoffs just a day after E3, one of the biggest tech and entertainment expos in North America. Viacom, the owner of the broadcasting outlet, has announced that it was selling the website Monday, which was subsequently bought by Defy Media. Variety reported that about 20 people were laid off during the transition. Defy already owns several other popular gaming sites such as Screen Junkies or The Escapist. This comes as a bit of a shock, so soon after the end of E3.
