Snag Canyon Fire: Explosives May Be Used to Stop Blaze

Snag Canyon Fire

An important update on the Snag Canyon Fire surfaced less than an hour ago. Crews working to control the blaze are waiting to hear if they can use blasting on the fire lines. The terrain where the blaze burns currently is too dangerous for crew members to access safely and productively. Cory Wall of the Washington Incident Management Team has said that two new hotshot crews are being brought in to work the fire’s northern edge, where the most recent growth has occurred.

If the crew gets the go ahead for the blasts, Ellensburg residents may hear the noise as the explosives go off. Any further update is currently pending. More extensive details will be provided on this latest development of the Snag Canyon Fire as it becomes available.
