The World Health Organization (WHO) issued a statement on Friday, September 26, confirming that the Ebola death toll is still on the rise in West Africa. To date, the deadly disease has claimed the lives of more than 3,000 people.
By far, Liberia has been hit the hardest with a total of 1,830 reported deaths, which is three times as many casualties than any of the other West African countries currently battling the disease. In all, there have been 6,574 suspected, probable or confirmed cases of Ebola across the continent, and of those infected, at least 3,091 have died.
