Earlier this week, testimony was heard regarding the Aug. 9 death of Kevin Ward, 20, who died as a result of blunt force trauma when fellow NASCAR driver, Tony Stewart struck and killed him during a dirt track race in Canandaigua. Following deliberations, a New York grand jury returned their decision, on Wednesday, declining to indict Stewart in Ward’s death. Ontario County District Attorney, Michael Tantillo revealed that Ward was under the influence of enough marijuana, at the time of his death, to “impair judgment,” which may have contributed to his behavior at the time of the tragic accident.
