A Kurdish commander says that ISIS has withdrawn for Kobani. After fear just a few days ago that the city would be lost, ISIS has been forced out of the city two kilometers to the east and nine kilometers to the west.
The fighters are now clearing the city, searching for suicide bombers.
ISIS remains in parts of the city, but the Kurdish fighters and allied bombing attacks have succeeded; for now the city is safe.
Estimates are that ISIS controls less than 20 percent of the city at this time.
