Obama Calls for Paid Family Leave

President Obama is speaking on the economy at Rhode Island College and is making a number of points. He chose Rhode Island as the setting for this speech as it is one of three states in the country which have laws for mandatory paid family leave, and he is calling for that to be the case nationally. This speech is hitting on several points, though focusing on issues surrounding equal pay and treatment for women and instituting policies to support that. He is calling for equal pay and improved affordable child care options in addition to praising the Affordable Care Act. His comments continue to set the goal of women being “full and equal partners in our economy.”
