Brittany Maynard has ended her life at 29 years of age, with help from Oregon’s Death With Dignity Act. She left a touching message on her facebook page to say goodbye to friends and loved ones, and implored people to “Spread good energy. Pay it Forward!”
Maynard had been diagnosed with stage four glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer, this past spring. It had left her little time. She had publicly stated that she planned to take her own life on Nov. 1 with an overdose of barbiturates, rather than let the cancer control her death. After delaying her scheduled death by one day, she left this world on her own terms.
