A portion of interstate 10 eastbound at mile marker 8 has been shut down by police after two Mobile County Sheriff’s Office vehicles were involved in an accident with a car they were pursuing that left both vehicles burning on the road. According to one report, the police vehicles rammed the vehicle during the chase, but no details about the circumstances of the accident or the reason for the pursuit have been released. No information about any injuries from the crash has been made public either. The highway remains temporarily closed going eastbound as the scene is being contained.
