Phoenix Protesters Gather Over Shooting of Rumain Brisbon


Two days ago, a Phoenix police officer shot and killed 34-year-old Rumain Brisbon. The event took place when the officer was directed toward a black SUV suspected of a drug deal. When the officer approached the driver a verbal argument insured. Brisbon apparently tried to flee and ended up in a struggle with the officer. The two tumbled into a nearby apartment on accident where a 2 and 9 year-old were. The officer was loosing grip over the suspect when he reached to pull something from his pocket, it turned to be a bottle of Oxycodone pills, but the officer shot Brisbon twice in the chest and killed him.

Today, 100 protesters gathered in downtown Phoenix, Arizona, in an attempt to continue and raise awareness over Ferguson and similar events in New York. The aggression from local authorities has large groups across the United States protesting continually.
