Netflix continues its mission to provide subscribers with an impressive collection of new movie and TV streaming options available for viewing in May 2015. Spring is finally here and the streaming media giant continues to offer its viewers a wide array of entertainment options that include Netflix original programming, classic movies and content, as well as new movie and TV show releases. Here are some of the new streaming options available for viewing on Netflix in May 2015.

On May 1, the Reese Witherspoon comedy flick, Legally Blonde (2001), and its sequel, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde (2003), join the streaming service’s offerings. Other new additions available for viewing on the same date include the 2013 biopic Jimi: All Is by My Side, which chronicles famed guitarist-musician Jimi Hendrix’s life and career. The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio (2005), which starred Julianne Moore (Still Alice) as a determined Ohio housewife who supports her large brood via sweepstakes and contests. Along with the music documentary, The Last Waltz (1978), which was directed by Martin Scorsese and chronicles San Francisco’s Winterland: the Band final concert after 16 years on the road.

For TV lovers, Season 3 of A&E’s Longmire, Season 10 of BBC’s Shameless, and Season 1 of foreign-import Witnesses all become new streaming options available for viewing on Netflix, starting on May 1. Meanwhile, Season 6 of USA’s cable hit medical series Royal Pains will become available on May 3.

Perhaps one of the most anticipated new arrivals for the streaming service in terms of original programming includes the re-teaming of Hollywood actresses Jane Fonda (The China Syndrome) and Lily Tomlin (All of Me) after 35 years in Grace and Frankie, which debuts its first season on May 8. The new series finds the 9 to 5 (1980) co-stars reunited as two jilted wives who have to start life over again in their 70s. This series is also very timely given that their spouses, played by Martin Sheen (Apocalypse Now) and Sam Waterson (Law & Order), fall in love with each other and decide to marry.

Some of the mid-month new streaming options available for viewing on Netflix in May 2015 include new episodes of a variety of reality TV shows. A few of the new offerings include History Channel programs, such as Modern MarvelsAmerican Restoration, and Counting Cars, along with Lifetime programming such as Hoarders and Dance Moms.

Later on in the month, Between is a unique addition to the streaming media giant’s library, which will debut its first episode on May 21. A new episode of the Jennette McCurdy (iCarly) drama will become available on Netflix every week at 8:30 p.m. PST to coincide with its broadcast in Canada.

As April showers give way to May flowers, the streaming service has many new streaming options available for viewing in May 2015. Additional new titles that will help round out the streaming media giant’s offerings for the month that welcomes warmer weather and thoughts of summer include the film Love and Honor (2013) on May 24, which starred Liam Hemsworth (The Last Song) and Aimee Teegarden (TV’s Friday Night Lights). The film centers on two young soldiers in Vietnam. When one gets dumped by his hometown girl, they decide to go AWOL and return to the U.S. to win her back. Other titles include the addition of the first two seasons of Graceland on May 26, which is another USA cable hit series and focuses on the exploits of undercover FBI agents. As the weather outside warms up, Netflix will continue to expand its impressive collection of new movie and TV streaming options available for viewing in May 2015 to keep subscribers invested.
