Tiger Woods to Make Next Start at the Players Championship

On Friday morning, Tiger Woods announced on Twitter that his next start will be at The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Verde Beach, Florida. Woods has been victorious at TPC Sawgrass twice in his career. He stated that he hopes, “for a repeat of 2013,” when he won by two shots. Last year, Woods did not compete due to his injuries, which required surgery.

The announcement shows that Woods will be coming back to his original schedule before the injury. After a rough start to the season, he said he his committed to getting back to his original stride.

Earlier this year, he missed the final cut at the Waster Management Phoenix Open. As well, he withdrew from the Farmers Insurance Open due to his previous injury. On February 11, he stated that he would take an indefinite break from golf.

Earlier this month, at the Masters, he tied for 17th place. Afterwards, he remained indecisive to when he would make his next start. Woods stated his next start would, “Not be for a while.” Though, he explained he has gotten his distance and will make his debut at The Palyers Championship.
