Dave Goldberg, CEO of Survey Monkey, Unexpectedly Dies at 47


Dave Goldberg, CEO of Survey Monkey has died at 47 years old. Robert Goldberg, Goldberg’s brother, confirmed the unfortunate news on Friday via Facebook. He is also the husband of Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg.

According to his wife, his death was unexpected. It is currently unclear of how the Silicon Valley giant died. The tech power couple was on vacation overseas at a currently unconfirmed location. It is also unclear if Sanberg returned to the United States with her husband’s body.

Twitter CEO Dick Costolo took to Twitter to say that Goldberg was, “one of the truly great people on the planet.” Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, also stated that Goldberg was an extraordinary person. “My thoughts and prayers are with Sheryl and her family,” he said.

The 47-year-old was in good health and had a very good outlook on life, as was stated by those who knew him. According to reports, nearly no one was notified about Goldberg’s death until around 12 to 14 hours after he died. Information regarding whether or not natural causes was the reason behind his unexpected dead are unknown.
