Ellen Degeneres is reportedly considering ending her talk show, in hopes to save her troubled marriage to wife Portia de Rossi. The 57-year-old, who had allegedly been attending couple’s therapy since last year, following tabloid reports claiming she had cheated on de Rossi, is being convinced by her partner that ending her wildly popular show will save their crumbling relationship.
Sources say that after Rossi successfully completed her stint in rehab for an alleged drug and alcohol addiction, the Scandal actress has not had much time with her wife, who is kept on a tight schedule with her daily duties in hosting her talk show. Rossi believes that the program takes up a lot of Degeneres’ time, preventing them from working on their issues and balancing their personal life with work.
Radar Online had claimed that Rossi became paranoid with the thought of catching her wife cheating after it was reported that the Degeneres had an alleged affair with a mutual pal. Though the comedienne firmly denied those reports, Rossi began showing up to Warner Bros. Studios, where Ellen is taped, simply because the 42-year-old was convinced there was another woman intruding her marriage, which would go on to ignite a feud between the two Hollywood stars.
“Ellen does not need to do the show anymore because she has more money than God,” an insider shares. Degeneres’ contract is set to expire in 2017, and de Rossi sees this as the perfect time for retirement, especially considering the fact that her partner has a net worth of $200 million. “Portia told her that she has already interviewed everyone there is to interview and the act just seems to be getting old.”
It is without question that Ellen is one of the most successful talk shows on television, seeing no competition from the likes of The Wendy Williams Show, The View, The Real or The Talk. Nonetheless, a one-woman-led program cannot remain successful if the host is dealing with issues at home, especially when it surrounds her marriage. Should Degeneres decide to quit the program, Rossi believes that their marriage will be in a much better place, giving them time to focus on issues that have kept the tabloids speculating since 2013.
From drug addictions to cheating allegations, and rumors that Degeneres plays the ‘nice card’ on television, but in actuality bullies people when she does not get her way. The tabloids have literally covered every angle they could to spin a story on the couple. The twosome have stated in the past that their relationship is more than fine, but if that had been the case, Rossi would not have entered rehab for two serious addictions last year. An alleged drug and alcohol addiction does not suddenly come out of nowhere. What triggered her to suddenly act out this way?
Whatever her reasons may be, it appears that the actress feels like the syndicated program is hindering their marriage; after the tabloids got involved, it has been a descending downfall. Whether Degeneres will stop her television show in hopes to save her marriage is yet to be determined. She has two years to settle on whatever decision she decides to make. Considering the fact that Degeneres will be sixty by the time her contract ends, it sounds reasonable for the 57-year-old to slow down, perhaps consider retiring from daytime television and focus on making her relationship the best it can possibly be.

Ellen has been doing this long before Portia came into the picture. Addictions don’t come out of nowhere, but jealousy does. It’s one of the leading causes of martial discord. Her expectation of Ellen leaving her show, in my opinion, is a ploy that will leave Portia feeling good and Ellen feeling manipulated. And this will NOT fix anything in their marriage.
I hope they can find another way to resolve their issues. Ellen’s show has meant so much to so many, I would personally be sad if the Ellen show were to leave the airwaves. She brings joy to thousands of people. For one hour, we who watch, are truly entertained, and made to feel important. She emulates kindness, caring and joy to the public. I find it hard to believe that she has an evil alter personality.
In closing, just because Ellen and Portia may be public figures, but that doesn’t mean we should expect their personal lives to be played out for our amusement.
Instead of worrying about famous people why not worry about everyday hard working family’s I mean for crying out loud………

Portia should lighten up and listen to the many times that Ellen refers to her wife during the show.It would be sad to see the end of “The Ellen Show”.
Ellen has worked very hard for this. She battled past the public’s negative reaction to the first kiss on TV, cancellation of shows and is now successful. She has made the world better for other LGTB people and changed lives in such a positive way. It seems wrong to even ask her to stop before SHE has gotten all she wants from her talk show. When I watch I see a woman who is having a great time. The show has not gotten ‘old’ in any way. Ellen is always entertaining and uplifting and should move on when she is ready and not because her partner wants her to. I understand it can make relationships hard but making more effort to spend time together no matter what and more trust could solve this problem. We don’t always have to give up our dreams to make things work. Often if your significant other asks you to give up your dream they are not the significant other for you. Just sayin’.

Don’t ever change who you are and leave what you love for your mate. What drew then to you in the first place sometimes generates jealousy and paranoia. The mate has personal issues if the things they once loved about you now suddenly are a problem. No one should be blamed for someone else’s addiction. Keep true to yourself. Do not lose yourself and what you believe in. Compromise if possible. Don’t change to obtain someone’s love.
