Met Gala
The Met Gala, as some well know, is a fundraiser that benefits the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. The event takes place in New York City. The gala showcases the Costume Institute’s exhibit of fashion that occurs on an annual basis. The theme of the exhibition serves as the focus for the overall gala. The goal is for the attendees to match their formal attire to the theme for the year. This event was formerly known as the Costume Institute Gala and some even refer to it today as the Met Ball. Each year the Met Gala has celebrity chairpersons that participate.

Anna Wintour, who is Vogue’s editor-in-chief, has been the primary chairperson of the Met Galas in the past and continued this tradition at this year’s event. Every year the Met Gala has honorary event day chairs as well. The Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence was chosen for the position and served as a co-chair for the 2015 Met Gala. The Met Gala took place on May 4, 2015, and the theme was China. The theme incorporated decorative arts, film representations, as well as paintings of China. The goal this year was to showcase the importance of China and its imagery, as well as the impact that it has in terms of art, film, and Western fashion.

Jennifer Lawrence, who is the spokes model for Dior, showed up in Dior and Galvan according to Christianity Daily and rocked her ensemble. She wore a Dior dress that featured cut-outs that exposed her stomach and collar-bone. The dress had a red and white floral pattern and also had red and black leaves on it, with a neckline made from jade and gold gemstones. The lower region of the dress was a long black skirt. Her nails were painted red and she wore two diamond rings. She also accessorized with a diamond mini purse and even diamond earrings. The actress wore her hair up in a bun, that rested high on her head.

After the Met Gala, the actress put on a Galvan dress that was silver. She wore this ensemble for an after party thrown by Rihanna. She had on diamond cuffs and a silver necklace to accessorize the outfit. Her shoes were black sandals and she held a black leather clutch. At the after party she had her hair down in loose waves.

The Met Gala exhibition featured work from many Chinese and Chinese American fashion designers such as Phillip Lim, Alexander Wang and Peter Som. Designers Ralph Lauren, Christian Louboutin, Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent and many more were represented at the Gala. Headdresses seemed to be the big accessory of the night. Sarah Jessica Parker was one of the notable stars to be wearing a headdress. She wore crown that was flame shaped by Philip Treacy and a black silk gown from H&M that had one shoulder and featured red blooms. Rihanna’s outfit for the event was another highlight, from designer Guo Pei. It was a long yellow gown with a huge train and the singer wore her hair down, with a headpiece on top, according to the New York Times.

The Met Gala brought out many celebrities that were dressed to impress and to get others to take notice according to The Washington Post. The Post also made mention of Kim Kardashian’s Robert Cavalli gown. The gown was white and sheer in some spots and very form-fitting. The star wore her hair in a ponytail and accessorized with subtle jewelry as not to upstage the gown. The New York Times mentioned that Jennifer Lopez wore an Atelier Versace gown that was sheer with a dragon design. The article added that the dress showed off just the right places and her curvaceous figure. The dress had one strap at the shoulder, while the other one was exposed and the dragon featured on the dress was shimmery red. The article went on about Beyonce, who showed up in a Givenchy gown looking fabulous. The dress was described as barely there, in that it was extremely sheer, with an embroidered floral pattern. She wore her hair in a high ponytail and chose nude pumps for her footwear to match the dress.

The Met Gala may now be over for the year, but there is always next year’s event to look forward to. The New York Times stated that there was plenty of dresses that will be on the minds of many individuals for a time, as well as some jaw-dropping ensembles. The article described the Met Gala as a magical event that brought together so many different people from many industries.

certainly like your web site but you have to take a look at the spelling on several of your posts. Many of them are rife with spelling problems and I to find it very bothersome to tell the truth then again I will surely come back again.

Good day! This is kind of off topic but I need some help from an established blog. Is it very difficult to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty quick. I’m thinking about setting up my own but I’m not sure where to begin. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Appreciate it
