All of the coaches of The Voice are still in action even though Blake Shelton lost two of his singers in the episode prior to the May 4 one. He can still count on Meghan Linsey, a part of his team, who gave an incredible performance, according to Hollywood Life. The May 4 show saw India Carney, who is Christina Aguilera’s artist, starting off the show by performing a John Legend song. A dedication was also made to her mother. Carney was almost sent home the week before, so she definitely had to step up her game this week, and ultimately nailed the song, according to Hollywood Life.

Joshua Davis performed after Carney and sang a song by U2. Adam Levine chose the song for Davis. Levine stated that he wanted to see his team member have a little bit more pizazz. He did a great job the previous week, according to the article, but Levine wanted to see him shake things up a bit more. Koryn Hawthorne, a member of Pharell Williams’ team, sang the song Everybody Hurts, which is by R.E.M. She also dedicated her song to her mother. Koryn is young at only 17-years-old but she managed to rock the song, according to the article. Williams stated that the performance was spirited and helped to light up the place. The performances made no one question why these people were in the top six of The Voice contestants.

Kimberly Nichole, who is on Team Christina, sang Free Fallin by Tom Petty and dedicated the song to her mother. She earned rave reviews even from Adam Levine who mentioned how powerful her rendition of the song was. Linsey sang a song by James Taylor and Shelton had selected the song for her because he feels that she has a powerful voice. Shelton described her version as unbelievable and unforgettable. Pharell Willimas’ team member Sawyer FredericksĀ  followed Linsey will his rendition of the song Shine On. He revealed that he used to listen to that song with his mom and he felt a connection to it. He felt that this song could help him advance to the next level because of the emotion behind it

Nichole then sang a Michael Jackson hit and it was very powerful. Aguilera chose the song for her as a means of showing off her wild side. Davis followed Nichole with a Beatles’ song called In My Life. Levine stated that the version by Davis was memorizing. Koryn then went on to sing an Aerosmith song that really showed off her talent. The judges felt that she really made that song her own and added her own special twist to it. She knocked it out of the park according to Entertainment Weekly. Carney followed with a performance of a Sam Smith song. Aguilera and even Levine were extremely impressed and told the singer that it was her best performance yet. Sawyer was up next with the song Take Me To The River. The crowd roared with excitement according to Entertainment Weekly as did Williams. Linsey followed with the last performance of the night. She sang Amazing Grace and the crowd was impressed. The judges of The Voice gave her rave reviews as well.

There is still more to come but these contestants showed everyone why they are in the top six of The Voice. The judges of The Voice have been encouraging viewers to vote for their favorites if they wish to see them move onto the next level. Aguilera appears to be in the lead with her team, but Shelton is following close behind due to Linsey’s powerful performances. Many feel that Aguilera’s experience as a singer and songwriter can only help her in terms of picking great singers and guiding them as well. Some feel that Williams’ inexperience as a judge will continue to get in his way. Shelton and Levine also have a great deal of experience in the music business which could play in their favor as well.

Regardless of the outcome, the top six of The Voice contains some powerful performers and they all have a good chance at going to the next level. The top six appear to be in it to win it according to E! online and the question of who will win remains a mystery. The semi-finals will be on Monday and the audience will finally get to see who moves up to the next level.
