ABC’s Fall 2015-2016 Lineup [Video]

ABC’s Fall 2015-2016 lineup is, at this point at least, complete. While there is still room for improvements, the up-to-date list of shows that have been renewed, canceled, or brought onto the network for the first time recently hit the internet. Many will be overjoyed at the renewal of their favorites, just as many will be upset at the axing of shows they held dear to their own hearts; in terms of the new shows, there is a variety of genres to choose from and there will most likely be something for everyone in the handle of upcoming series produced by the award-winning network. The following represents the entirety of shows set to hit the air this primetime season.

Renewed Series (Comedy):

Modern Family (for a seventh season)
The Middle (for a seventh season)
Black-ish (for a second season)
Fresh Off the Boat (for a second season)
Galavant (for a second season)
The Goldbergs (for a third season)
Last Man Standing (for a fifth season)

Renewed Series (Drama):

Agent Carter (for a second season)
Castle (for an eighth season)
Grey’s Anatomy (for a 12th season)
How to Get Away With Murder (for a second season)
Once Upon a Time (for a fifth season)
Scandal (for a fifth season)
Nashville (for a fourth season)
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (for a third season)
Secrets and Lies (for a second season)
American Crime (for a second season)

Renewed Series (Reality):

America’s Funniest Home Videos (for a 26th season)
The Bachelor (for a 20th season)
Beyond the Tank (for a second season)
Dancing With The Stairs (for a 21st season)
Shark Tank (for a seventh season)

Renewed Series (Other):

20/20 (for a 36th season)

This represents the list of shows that ABC has decided to give another season to. The following however, did not make the cut for ABC’s 2015-2016 lineup, and have thus been put on the chopping block regarding the next primetime season.

Canceled Series (Comedy):

Cristela (after one season)
Manhattan Love Story (after one season)
Selfie (after one season)

Canceled Series (Drama):

Forever (after one reason)
Resurrection (after two seasons)

Canceled Series (Reality):

The Taste (after one season)

Canceled Series (Other):

Revenge (Soap Opera, after four seasons)

These are all the shows that ABC decided to cancel, due to poor ratings among other reasons. In their place, however, ABC has created quite the lineup of new television series that they hope will capture the attention of viewers and as such do better than those shows which had to be cut from the upcoming primetime season.

New Series (Comedy):

Dr. Ken
The Muppets
The Real O’Neals
Uncle Buck

New Series (Drama):

The Family
The Catch
Wicked City
Of Kings and Prophets

New Series (Other):

Blood and Oil (Soap Opera)

The aforementioned lists represent the current representation of ABC’s 2015-2016 lineup. While, as mentioned previously, there is still room for change and schedule, it seems as though the present lineup should be more or less here to stay. Whether or not the brand new shows brought on to the network will be a hit or a miss remains to be seen, but there seems to be a somewhat substantial level of excitement regarding some of the above mentioned series set to hit the air this primetime season.
