SpaceX Capsule Destined for International Space Station Erupts on Take Off

Minutes ago, it has been reported that the launch of SpaceX Capsule carrying about 4000 pounds of cargo to the International Space Station has been a failure. Its rocket has erupted within two minutes of take off at Cape Canaveral, Fla. The SpaceX Dragon capsule was scheduled to deliver many important equipment including an adapter built for enabling manned missions in the future to dock at the ISS, spare parts, as well as food for the astronauts currently onboard the International Space Station.

The adapter was built by Boeing and would have played a crucial part in the plans for astronauts going to space using manned rockets in place of shuttles. The adapter itself weighed about 1000 pounds. PayPal founder and billionaire investor, Elon Musk, is the founder of SpaceX. Two previous attempts to guide the rocket had also ended in failure. The rocket is programmed to be in use for only a few minutes following the take-off.

The company, which plans to offer privatized space flights, has suffered major setbacks in its plans in the recent months. No astronauts were a part of the SpaceX Dragon capsule destined for the ISS which has now been a failure as its rocket has erupted minutes after the take-off. The information was tweeted on NASA’s official twitter handle on Sunday, June 28, 2015.
