Detectives in Yuba County, California are investigating an officer-involved shooting in the 9000 Block of Marysville Road in the Oregon House community.
Officers were called to the location on Aug. 1, 2017, around 9 a.m. CT, concerning a disturbed and possibly armed man.
According to eye witnesses, the man was frustrated as he pulled plants from his front yard.
Once deputies arrived at the residence, they exchanged gunfire with the disgruntled citizen.
Two officers were wounded and airlifted to local hospitals. The condition of the deputies are, presently, unknown.
The gunman fled the scene.
According to the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office, the area was still not secure at 10:30 a.m. However, there is a heavy presence of law enforcement and medical staff at the scene.
Officers believe the suspect may be hiding in another home nearby. It is not yet known if he was wounded in the fire fight.
The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office is asking people to avoid the area.
There will be more updates as the hunt for the shooter continues.
