The legendary rock band on Jan. 14, 2019 announced that their first new album in 13 years is presently being worked on.
Pete Townshend, the lead guitarist who is 73 years old posted a statement for the fans of the classic rock that the new album will consist of ballads that are dark, heavy rock, electronic, and samples.
The new album which will have 15 songs, is set to be released in late 2019. This is The Who’s first album since the band’s 11th studio album that was released in 2006 “Endless Wire.”
Lead singer Roger Daltrey, 74, announced dates for The Who’s “Moving On!” tour. The first date will be at the Van Andel Arena located in Grand Rapids, Michigan on May 7. The band will be in New York at Madison Square Garden on May 13, and The Who will end their tour on October 23, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada at the Rogers Arena.
At every concert, there will be a local orchestra performing with the band. The concert will include music from the band’s entire celebrated career.
Daltry promised that even though there will be an orchestra performing with The Who, the concert will have the sound that the fans know and love. He also said that this could be The Who’s last tour with him as the lead singer. Daltry told The Mirror that he has to be realistic and he is getting up there in age and his voice is starting to go. He doesn’t want to keep performing if his voice is not as good as it was two years ago.
