Burger King has confirmed on Instagram that they have returned Spicy Chicken Nuggets to their menu. The restaurant wrote:
They are what you wanted. What you really, really wanted. Spicy Chicken Nuggets have returned!
Burger King launched the spicy all-white-meat nuggets in 2017 in response to their rival Wendy’s chicken nuggets which was already on the restaurant’s menu. Wendy’s discontinued their chicken nuggets in 2016 after they changed the seasoning recipe and sales dropped.
Spicy Chicken Nuggets are similar to the restaurant’s original chicken nuggets. The only difference is a spice mixture has been added to the breading before it being deep fried.
The hamburger outlet will have Spicy Chicken Nuggets for a limited time. A spicy meal is served with a choice of two different dipping sauces. The price is 10 for $1.49, which is 15 cents per nugget. Burger King is also offering original nuggets at the same price.
Burger King, a hamburger fast food chain began in Jacksonville, Florida in 1953. The original name for the restaurant was Insta-Burger King. The headquarters are currently located in Miami-Dade County in Florida.
As of Sept. 2016, Burger King reported having they had 15,243 restaurants in 100 different countries.
When the restaurant launched, the menu offered burgers, soda, milkshakes, and french fries. Their signature sandwich the Whopper was added in 1957.
