Multiple news sources are reporting that “90210” and “Riverdale” actor Luke Perry suffered a stroke on Feb. 28, 2019, and is hospitalized.
TMZ reported the Los Angeles Fire Department received a 911 call about an individual who had suffered a stroke. The call originated from Perry’s home in Sherman Oaks at 9:40 a.m. PT. Paramedics responded, and Perry was transported to the hospital.
The actor’s representative told “Today” that 52-year-old Perry was being observed in the hospital.
At 12:07 p.m. PT TMZ reported that sources had informed them that Perry was placed in a medically induced coma, and the stroke was “massive.” The actor was awake and talking when paramedics arrived, but his condition quickly deteriorated.
At 12:25 p.m. PT TMZ wrote that a family member has told them Perry was presently in a coma, his representative has not confirmed this. They also reported the actor was currently sedated.
Former “90210” stars took to social media. Ian Ziering wrote on his Instagram that there were no words that could express how he was feeling after hearing the news. He asked everybody to pray for Perry’s recovery.
Shannen Doherty wrote on her Instagram saying she was holding the actor tightly and was giving him strength. She added, “You got this.”
The news of the actor’s stroke comes one day after an announcement was made by FOX stating there would be a reboot of “90210” and all the original stars would be part of the series except Perry and Doherty.
