Mike Bibby who played 14 seasons with the NBA has been accused of the sexual assault of a teacher at Shadow Mountain High School in Phoenix, Arizona.
The Paradise Valley School District told the Arizona Republic Bibby was removed as the boy’s basketball coach from his alma mater high school after a teacher accused him of sexual assault and filed a restraining order.
The spokesperson for the Paradise Valley School District, Becky Kelbaugh told the Republic via email that Bibby is no longer permitted to volunteer as the basketball coach pending the results of the investigation.
It is reported that the alleged incident occurred in Feb. 2017. The teacher said Bibby grabbed and groped her on school grounds, and a restraining order was granted on Feb. 22, 2019.
Donald Harris, Bibby’s lawyer, told the publication that his client was innocent and the incident he was accused of and did not happen. Bibby did not partake in a sexual assault as it was alleged by the teacher two years ago.
Bibby played 14 seasons in the NBA for the New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks, Miami Heat, Vancouver Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings, and Washington Wizards.
