Starbucks announced their new Spring menu on March 5, which included a special Macchiato inspired by singer Ariana Grande, as well as some returning favorites and a new sweet treat. While fans of both the company and the singer may be interested in breaking up with their current favorite drink in deference to the new Cloud Macchiato, there are other options also part of the new menu that they can get behind as well.
In a press release from Starbucks, the company announced their Spring menu, starting with their two new Macchiatos inspired by Ariana Grande, who is a fan of all things cloud related. The Cloud Macchiato comes in two different flavor options, a caramel and a cinnamon. At the same time, one can also order this beverage in either hot or cold.
What makes the Cloud Macchiato so unique is the fact that there is a cloud of cold foam, topped with espresso shots, plus Starbucks is even adding a fresh hint of lemon to each drink. Of course, depending on the flavor chosen, each Macchiato is specially crafted to give either the fresh burst of cinnamon or the smooth sweetness of caramel.
Joining the Cloud Macchiato on the spring menu are lemon cake pops. These are exactly what they sound like, lemon cake balls that are then dipped in a yellow coating of chocolate, that is then topped with sweet and sour bits for an added zing of freshness.
There are also some items that are set to return to the menu, including the Cold Brew with Cascara Cold Foam. This drink is sweetened with a vanilla flavored syrup, which combined with the cold foam, gives the iced coffee a smooth, rich flavor that many people enjoy as an alternative to a standard ice coffee. While many Starbucks locations already offer the Matcha Green Tea Latte, the Iced Green Tea Latte, and the Matcha Green Tea Crème Frappuccino, these are considered the perfect spring drink, which is why they are returning in full.
Starbucks is also expanding their grocery store options and flavors, including the Starbucks Tripleshot Energy which comes in French Vanilla, Caffè Mocha, and Caramel. Then there are the Bottled Starbucks Frappuccinos, which have added new flavors including Salted Dark Chocolate, Toasted White Chocolate, and Caramelized Vanilla Honey, all of which have the addition of cold brew to the mix to give these bottled Frappuccinos an irresistible smoothness.
On top of these ready-to-drink grocery options, Starbucks is also releasing K-Cups in Blonde Sunrise Blend. These K-Cups will only be available for a limited time, which means fans of this flavor will want to stock up while they can. Finally, there are also Cookie Straws in a dark chocolate swirl.
With Starbucks already celebrating the start of Spring early, it looks like they are hoping that their collaboration with Ariana Grande will help inspire new people to come in and give their new menu items a try. From the Cloud Macchiato to the Lemon Cake Pops, there is a little something for everyone this Spring, and Starbucks has no problem getting their sweet on.
